There is a nifty application called bashstyle at the sourceforge. The application helps you create a new bash prompt or select from the existing ones like the below ones:

<a href="http://blog.amit-agarwal.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/screenshot-1.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-822" title="bashstyle" src="http://blog.amit-agarwal.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/screenshot-1.jpg" alt="bashstyle" width="667" height="43" />
Now that I have your attention, you can build your custom prompt also. I have been using this for sometime but every time I had to build it from source and thus I built a rpm for my use. If you want you can download <a href="http://amit-agarwal.co.in/mystuff/BashStyle-7.5-1.1.i586.rpm" target="_blank">here.
