It has become one of the most popular desktop environments and is the default on many <a class="zem_slink freebase/guid/9202a8c04000641f8000000000024e02" title="Linux distribution" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_distribution">Linux distributions. With the coming of KDE 4, developers promised native KDE applications running on <a class="zem_slink freebase/guid/9202a8c04000641f8000000000025fe8" title="Windows" rel="homepage" href="http://www.microsoft.com/WINDOWS">Windows.
